Terry Lerma is a Captain/EMT-B in the Volunteer Suppression Program. He began volunteering with SKFR in 1996 when the US NAVY transferred him to the Naval Hospital Bremerton. He retired from the US NAVY as a Senior Chief Hospital Corpsman in November 1999. Currently, he is the Medical Treatment Facility Emergency Manager for Naval Hospital Bremerton and a Certified Emergency Manager with the International Association of Emergency Manager. His SKFR qualifications/certifications include Firefighter, Tender and Pump/Engine Operator, Emergency Medical Technician-Basic, Ongoing Training and Evaluation Program Evaluator, Emergency Vehicle Incident Prevention Instructor, and Fire Service Instructor Level 1. His hobbies include volunteering as a K9 Handler with All Breeds Canine Search and Rescue and as an Operations Chief with Washington Explorer Search and Rescue, Kitsap Unit. He is married with 3 grown children and 10 grandchildren. His favorite motto/saying, “We are…V-3! We are…V-3! If one goes in…we all go in!”
