August 2021 – Horseshoe Lake Fire

On Monday, August 9th at approximately 1500 hours (3pm) a call was dispatched as a brush fire. As crews arrived on scene the fire was approximately 4 acres; however, by 2100 hours (9pm) it had grown to approximately 18 acres. Crews along with the help of community members who had heavy equipment were able to cut/doze a fire line around the fire to contain it. Over the next several days crews worked to contain small hotspots. Thank you to DNR for the helicopter support, our amazing community bringing in tractors and dozers, and everyone else for your continued support.
