Volunteer Association
SKFRVA’s mission is to actively support our community by providing trained First Responders for fire suppression, EMS, Support and Rehab services on the fire ground, fire prevention/ safety education, and disaster response/recovery. Volunteer chaplains provide assistance to families in need and our Administrative Support personnel also aid the South Kitsap community with installations of smoke detectors for financially challenged families, and free child car safety seat inspections. SKFRVA provides these suppression and support services in South Kitsap County in a response area that encompasses 121 square miles with 77,000 citizens. In 2020, in spite of COVID, we responded to over 150 structure fires, assisted with a number of the 9800 EMS calls occurring annually in the South Kitsap area, and when requested, to neighboring jurisdictions.
